NEW TO LUXURY RESALE? START HERE.

Buying a luxury bag—especially pre-owned—can feel surprisingly overwhelming.

There are so many things to compare: different models, sizes, materials, conditions, prices, sellers, return policies, accessories, and signs of wear. Two bags can look almost identical and still have very different values.

And because these purchases can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars, the stakes feel higher. You want to know that the bag fits your lifestyle, that the condition matches the description, and that the price makes sense for what you’re actually getting.

That’s where Bag Science comes in. We help organize the information, compare the details, and make the process easier to understand—so you can make your decision with more clarity and confidence.

WHAT IS THE BAG SCIENCE SCORE?

Our score brings the most important parts of a resale listing into one clear 100-point assessment.

We look at condition, visible wear, structure, included accessories, current comparable listings, and Price + Value.

A high score doesn’t simply mean a beautiful bag. It means the bag’s condition and asking price make sense together in the current resale market.

LEARN BEFORE YOU BUY

Luxury resale gets easier when you know what you’re looking at.

Bag Science breaks down the materials, condition terms, and wear that can affect how a bag looks, lasts, and holds value.

Why it looks like leather, why Louis Vuitton uses it, and what wear to watch for.

Learn how untreated leather changes with age, what normal patina looks like, and why condition matters..

WHAT DOES “VERY GOOD CONDITION” REALLY MEAN?
WHAT DAMAGE SHOULD WORRY YOU?

Condition labels aren’t standardized. Photos and disclosed flaws may tell you more than the seller’s rating.

Some wear is cosmetic. Other damage can be costly or difficult to repair. Learn which flaws deserve a closer look.

BUY BETTER. KEEP LONGER.

A well-chosen bag can be used for years, resold later, or even passed on.

But not every luxury bag is a smart purchase. Condition, practicality, repairability, and market value all matter.

The goal isn’t to buy more. It’s to understand what you’re buying.

Our Story

A woman working on a laptop at a shared office space with a large monitor displaying a logo and other people working in the background.

Bag Science started with a very personal shopping experience.

When I began looking for a pre-owned Louis Vuitton for myself, I quickly realized how difficult it was to compare what was actually available. The same models appeared across different resale sites at very different prices, with different condition descriptions, accessories, return policies, and levels of wear.

I found myself comparing the details, checking prices across the market, and asking whether the condition really justified the price.

At some point, I realized I was approaching handbag shopping almost like a research problem (as I am a Scientist :)).

And that was the beginning of Bag Science.

WHAT BAG SCIENCE DOES

Bag Science turns that process into something useful for other buyers.

We help you understand the model, condition, current resale market, and listing details before you make a decision.

Whether you are trying to choose the right bag, understand what a fair price looks like, evaluate a listing you already found, or have us search for options, the goal is the same:

Give you better information before you buy.

WE FIND IT. WE ANALYZE IT. YOU DECIDE.
