ABOUT BAG SCIENCE
BagScience was created to make buying pre-owned luxury easier to understand.
It started when I began looking for a pre-owned Louis Vuitton for myself. What I expected to be a fun shopping experience quickly became surprisingly complicated. The same models appeared across resale sites at widely varying prices, with different condition descriptions, accessories, return policies, and levels of wear.
My first purchase didn’t turn out to be the right one, and I was fortunate to be able to return it.
After that, I started doing what I naturally do: comparing the details, looking closely at the evidence, checking prices across the market, and asking whether the condition really justified the price.
At some point, I realized I was approaching handbag shopping almost like a research problem.
That was the beginning of Bag Science.
The idea was simple: make that same analysis useful to other buyers—especially people entering the pre-owned luxury market for the first time.
Bag Science is not a reseller. We do not sell the bags we evaluate. Our focus is helping buyers understand what they are looking at before they make a decision.
We look at the model, condition, visible wear, included accessories, current resale market, asking price, and seller terms to give buyers a clearer picture of the listing. We also help people understand which bag models fit different lifestyles, what common materials and condition terms actually mean, and which kinds of wear may affect value or long-term use.
Buying luxury should feel exciting, not confusing.
A thoughtfully chosen bag can be used for years, resold later, or even passed on. But a recognizable logo or a low price alone does not make something a good purchase.
Our goal is not to tell you what to buy.
Our goal is to give you better information so you can decide for yourself.
WE FIND IT. WE ANALYZE IT. YOU DECIDE.
Bag Science provides independent analysis based on available listing information, photos, seller disclosures, and current resale-market comparisons. We do not physically inspect bags and are not an authentication service.
